How customers opt in, what they receive, and how to stop.
OBDai is software used by independent auto repair shops. When a shop is working on your vehicle, it can send you text messages about that repair — a quote to approve, confirmation that work has started, and a message when the vehicle is ready.
These are transactional service messages about your own vehicle. They are never marketing, and consent is never sold or shared.
When a shop sends you a quote, you receive a private link to your own approval page. On that page you review each item, approve or decline it, type your name, and sign. Directly above the signature there is an unticked, optional checkbox:

[Shop name] may send you text messages about this vehicle: quotes to approve, when work starts, and when it's ready. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop, or HELP for help. This is not required to approve the work.
The box is never pre-ticked, and ticking it is not a condition of approving the work or of any purchase. Consent is recorded against your customer record with the date and time, alongside the signature you gave on the same page.

Every message begins with the name of the shop servicing your vehicle and ends with the opt-out instruction.
Reply STOP to any message. You will receive no further texts. An opt-out is recorded permanently and a shop cannot undo it by re-enabling messages on their end. Reply START to resubscribe, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply.
